About Turin

Turin (Torino) is a bustling metropolis of roughly one million people located on the banks of the Po River. Surrounded by the Italian Alps, Turin is the business and cultural center of Northern Italy. Average temperatures for July and August do not normally exceed 82 (27C) degrees, and the evenings are typically refreshing in the mid-60s (16C). Turin is world-renowned for its excellent chocolate, and the city's transportation infrastructure is top-notch thanks to the improvements made in 2006 when Turin hosted the Winter Olympics.

About the ITC-ILO

The International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ITC-ILO) is situated along the Po River about 10km from the centre of Turin. The ILO is a UN agency that works to promote decent work throughout the world. The ILO and the Italian Government established the International Training Centre in 1964 in Turin to assist countries in their social and economic development through learning and training. The ITC-ILO campus has training facilities, accommodations, cafeteria, restaurant, bar, tennis courts, soccer field, health clinic, post office, laundry, travel agency, and social activities office.
