Natasa Goronja is the Network and Marketing Manager at the Microfinance Management Institute (MFMI – www.themfmi.org.) She works to promote and expand the global network of 60 academic and training institutions providing learning programs on microfinance. In addition, Natasa manages the offer of CGAP/MFMI course for funders “Building Inclusive Financial Systems for the Poor: How Funders Can Make a Difference”. The course has been offered 14 times since 2003, with over 350 alumni from 70 countries. Natasa started her career in microfinance as a loan officer in her native Bosnia and Herzegovina. Subsequently, she has worked with the United Nation’s Development Program, European Commission, and the World Bank in Bosnia; the Microfinance Center in Poland, and CGAP in Washington.
Since 2001, Natasa has been on the faculty of the Microfinance Training Program and a shortened version of the funder course has been offered. During the course, she uses an experiential learning approach and gives many personal examples from her experience in the field and with funding agencies.
