MFT 20th Anniversary

Throughout 2014, we celebrated the 20th Anniversary of our signature program, the Microfinance Training Program (MFT)!

In March 2014, we celebrated in Arequipa, Perú, at our Spanish MFT with a special program dedicated to the challenges that the region faces.

In recognition of the institutions that have participated in the program for several years, Boulder Institute offered three scholarships to attendees from CRECER (Bolivia), Credi Fe (Ecuador) and FUNDEA (Guatemala).

Last summer in Turin, we continued the anniversary celebration by offering unique programs tailored to participants of the English and French MFT programs.

On the first day of the program, an inauguration ceremony was held with several surprises including a special video retracing the history of the MFT programs from their inception. Robert Christen also acknowledged the dedicated faculty who have taught since the beginning of the English and French programs respectively. The International Training Centre of the ILO hosted a tremendous anniversary dinner for the occasion at which the Mayor of the City of Turin was present.

During the second week of the program, at The MasterCard Foundation Symposium on Financial Inclusion, The MasterCard Foundation hosted a special celebration in honor of the 20th Anniversary of the MFT programs where participants of the 2014 MFT programs and attendees of The Symposium had the opportunity to come together and celebrate.

If you are one of our 5,000 alumni, we would love to reconnect with you! Be sure to send us an email so we can stay in touch about future events and add you to our growing Alumni Network. Also, please visit the historic photo and video galleries on our website to review past MFT presentations.

Our French MFT has recently been highlighted on the CGAP Portail Microfinance website. To read it, click here
