Pierre successfully completed his study at HAS‘s-Hertogenbosch University of Applied Sciences in 1985, where he graduated in animal husbandry and agriculture. He started his carrier working for a subsidiary of Unilever in the Pig farming industry value chain. After working at different levels in that value chain, Pierre joined Rabobank in 1996 where he successfully worked in the following roles; Relationship manager agribusiness for a local Rabobank,  manager Corporate, manager Retail, change manager Rabobank Netherlands and manager Process- and Project management. In 2010 he started working for Rabo Development /RIAS (now Rabo Partnerships) as Senior Project Manager Agribusiness.

In this role, Pierre’s broad and in-depth F&A and Banking experience prove its value in the various food and Agri related projects in African and Asian countries that are under his guidance.

Pierre successfully manages projects aiming for the improvement of financial inclusion for particularly the smallholder and emerging farmers, cooperative development, integrated value chain approaches and the development of specific products, financing schemes, and scoring-/rating tools for (local) financial institutions.

In addition, Pierre is also highly experienced in organizing and conducting customized and interactive credit training for Financial Institutions and extensive Governance training programs for cooperatives. Recently he is also co-managing a five-year Climate-Smart project (CRAFT) in three African countries with partners like SNV, University Wageningen, CCAFS and Agriterra.
