Omoneka Musa Oyier is an Operations Officer in the IFC’s Financial Institutions Group, covering Digital Financial Services and Microfinance. She has a background in strategy consulting as an analyst, then associate at Genesis Analytics, a Johannesburg-based economics consulting firm. She has over ten years’ experience advising financial institutions, payments providers and policy makers in the areas of banking strategy, microfinance and mobile financial services throughout Africa.

Omoneka has working experience across Africa, including francophone Africa and is currently managing a portfolio of IFC projects in Digital Financial Services, Microfinance and SME Banking across East and West Africa. Areas of focus include strategy review and business planning, demand-side research and project implementation. Publications include the “Alternative Delivery Channels and Technology” Handbook (2015), a case study on “Achieving Interoperability in Mobile Financial Services” (2015).

Omoneka has an M.A in International Relations and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.
