Djibril Maguette Mbengue


Djibril Mbengue  is an Investment Executive / Director Of GroFin Country since August 2017, a position he held after his run at Oikocredit as Country Director between February 2015 and August 2017. He obtained a digital finance certification from the Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI) in 2019. Prior to joining Oikocredit, Djibril was a financial sector specialist at CGAP/World Bank. Djibril was a member of the Basel Committee on Financial Inclusion Working Group and represented the CGAP in the donor consortium that funded the implementation of the activities of the PRAFIDE (ECBAO Regional Programme for Support for Decentralised Finance). Djibril was also responsible for the Inclusive Supervision Training Program, a partnership between Toronto Centre and the CGAP. In addition, Djibril is involved in consumer protection diagnostics, with a particular focus on regulatory aspects. Prior to joining the CGAP in 2007, he was Technical Portfolio Manager at the Regional Unit for West Africa and the United Nations Equipment Fund Centre and worked on national financial inclusion strategies in several West and Central African countries. Between 2000 and 2004, he was Director of Operations at REMIX, a microfinance research firm. From 1996 to 2000, he was also responsible for the internal control and management control of the 'Credit Mutuel du Senegal' network. Djibril has been working as a trainer at Boulder since 2005 and has a master's degree in economics option business management in 1995. Djibril has 23 years of experience in microfinance/financial inclusion.
