Sahar Tieby is currently working as the Executive Director of Sanabel; the Microfinance Network of Arab Countries. She has over 20 years of experience working in the Middle East and North African region in the sustainable development arena, of which the last 15 years have been dedicated to the development of the microfinance industry. She has extensive experience in designing microfinance services and streamlining the management of institutions’ operations. She is an accredited Trainer of Trainers for microfinance courses for practitioners and donor agencies. Before joining Sanabel, Sahar worked on a variety of microfinance initiatives in the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, Central and South East Asia with several organizations including UNICEF, World Bank, CGAP, Save the Children, CHF International, Chemonics Inc., and most recently with the ITC ILO in Turin. Sahar currently serves on the Steering Committee of the SMART Campaign, and has been part of the Boulder Faculty since 2011.
