Fouad Abdelmoumni is an international development and microfinance consultant working in particular with PAMIGA on rural microfinance in Sub-Saharan Africa and with SFI on the MENA region.

He founded the Al Amana association and became its managing director in 1996. He left it in 2010 with 2,100 permanent employees, over 400 points of sale and a portfolio of over US$ 350 million in credits to men and women throughout the territory of Morocco.

Thanks to one of the MCC’s programs, in 2010-2011 he advised the Moroccan government and its central bank on preparing a frame of reference for transforming the microfinance sector.

Among other activities, Fouad Abdelmoumni was a board member of CGAP (Consultative Group to Assist the Poor) in 2000-2002 and 2007-2010. He was a board member of WWB (Women’s World Banking) and of MFN (Microfinance Network) and the United Nations Guidance Council for World Microcredit Year (UN-YMC) and also co-founded and chaired SANABEL (a network of microfinance institutions in Arab countries, Cairo).
