Denny George is a Senior Manager in MicroSave’s Digital Financial Services Domain and has over ten years of experience in accessible and rural banking with financial institutions in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi, the Philippines, and South Africa.
His work focuses on assisting clients to implement digital financial solutions, which include: strategy development, institutional diagnostics, qualitative market research to understand customers’ needs, product development, channel design, process re-engineering, pilot testing, and support to roll-out. Denny also delivers workshops and training to support this work.
He has recently been involved in initiatives in India and Bangladesh to implement digital financial solutions in major microfinance institutions. He has also led the development of a training toolkit intended to assist microfinance practitioners implement digital channels in their organisations.
Denny has also been managing the Asia component of a large, four year, eight country research project intended to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of transaction agents facilitating delivery of digital financial services.
Before joining MicroSave, Denny worked for ICICI Bank in the Rural Micro-banking and Agri-business division. At ICICI Bank he was responsible for establishing a jewel loan business in Orissa; preparing working capital and project finance proposals; and developing the agri-finance portfolio in the SME segment.
