Andrea Stoppa is an agriculture economist active mainly in the fields of agricultural policy and risk management. He has provided consulting services to various private and public institutions, among which The World Bank, WFP, IFAD and FAO. Some of the initiatives he has been recently involved in are the Country Outreach and Risk Transfer activities of the African Risk Capacity (ARC);  the development of Public-Private-Partnership in agricultural insurance for the Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance Program (DRFIP) of The World Bank; and in the assessment of remote sensing based index insurance tools with IFAD/WFP’s Weather Risk Management Facility (WRMF). 
Andrea holds a degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Viterbo (Italy), and Masters’ degrees in Agriculture Policy and Economics from the University of Naples (Italy) and in Economics from Iowa State University (USA).
