Dr. Gabriela Salvador, Global Manager of Microfinance and Health at Freedom From Hunger, has more than 15 years of experience in the field of health, in the public and private sector alike as a doctor, but also as a professional in the field of public health. Her specialty is designing and implementing high impact health programs for low income women and their families around the world, using microfinance platforms to facilitate the access to health services. Initially, Gabriela's work was focused on Latin America, as a consultant and executive coach in various organizations, such as being the Executive director in charge of Health and Human Development in Pro Mujer Internacional. Nowadays, due to her role in Freedom From Hunger, her work include not only Latin America, but also Africa and South East Asia, with health programs impacting 1.9 million women around the world. Originally from Salta, Argentina, Gabriela has medical degree with a specialty in ophthalmology, as well as a surgery Fellowship granted by the University of California and Cedars Sinai Medical Center, as well as a Master degree in Public Health with a specialization in Health Policy and Administration from Harvard University.
