Anup Singh

MicroSave

Anup Singh leads MicroSave’s Inclusive Finance and Banking domain in Africa. With eleven years of experience, his expertise includes formulation of strategic plan for inclusive finance, market research, scoping and segmentation, product development, pilot and roll out, and trainings. He has consulted over 80 institutions including commercial banks and non-banking institutions in seven countries in Africa and eight countries in Asia. His key projects include:  Product development for micro finance and enterprise finance for Opportunity Bank in Malawi, Opportunity Bank in Uganda, Opportunity Kauswagan Bank in the Philippines, Disha, UPF, and Samunnati in India, Urwego Opportunity Bank in Rwanda, and Bina Artha in Indonesia. (2012-2015); Capacity building support to downscaling efforts of HFC Limited in Kenya, funded by HF Group (2016); and Wholesale lending product design and strategic landscape mapping for agri enterprise finance for Root Capital in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Malawi (2016)

Prior to joining MicroSave, he worked as an Associate with the Centre for Microfinance advising financial institutions on the design and implementation of enterprise finance and value chain lending products. He also worked with agricultural finance and livelihood services providers to develop and re-engineer value chains. He is fluent in English and Hindi.
