Xavier Faz


Mr. Faz is a senior advisor to CGAP's Technology Program on Business Model Innovation. He has led work on branchless banking business models, market segmentation, product innovation, and market development strategies. He is also CGAP's manager for the Latin American region.

Before joining CGAP, Mr. Faz was Vice President of Strategic Planning at Bansefi, a state development bank in Mexico focused on consolidating and regulating the microfinance sector.  At Banfesi, Mr. Faz led public sector efforts to enhance technology deployment and integration of MFIs to the national payments system. Mr. Faz also worked at McKinsey & Company, a global consulting firm, on strategy, technology and business innovation in consumer goods and financial services in the private and public sectors.

Mr. Faz holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stanford University, and an Engineering degree in Electronic Systems from the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey, México.
