The Boulder Rural and Agricultural Finance Program at the Boulder MFT
We are proud to announce the success of our professional development program focused on financial inclusion among smallholder households and rural SMEs: The Boulder Rural and Agricultural Finance Program (RAFP) at the Boulder MFT that took place on July 20th to August 7th, 2015 in Turin, Italy with the support of leading institutions.
This is a promising time in rural and agricultural finance for low- and middle-income countries. There is a growing recognition of the importance of smallholder families and rural SMEs, and interest in finding better ways to serve them is renewed. The complexity of the environment this market segment confronts, creates challenges for the financial service providers such as: seasonality, changing markets, small transactions, remote locations and low population density of rural areas, among others which require a special initiative.
Therefore, Boulder Institute was proud to introduce the Rural and Agricultural Finance Training Program at Boulder MFT. This highly specialized training event, places rural and agricultural finance in the wider context of inclusive finance. This 3-week program conveyed a global perspective on how to meet the financial needs of agricultural households and rural SMEs, bringing in the experience of some of the leading institutions. 22 practitioners and specialists in this field participated in this year edition.
Don’t miss out on our next year edition, stay tuned!
