Boulder Institute has just completed its 2017 Boulder MFT and RAFP training programs in Turin, Italy

NEW Digital Financial Services Concentrations with 13 English and French courses focused on different components of this quickly evolving reality of financial inclusion today.

The 23rd Edition of the Boulder MFT in English, 13th Boulder MFT in French (in collaboration with Agence Française de Développement), and 3rd Rural and Agricultural Finance Program (in collaboration with FAO and CABFIN) took place in Turin, Italy from July 17th to August 4th at the International Training Centre of the ILO. These three programs brought together a total of 268 participants from 58 different countries and 187 institutions including MFIs, Commercial Banks, Central Banks, Ministries of Finance, Donor Agencies, Investors, Development Agencies and more. The programs offered a combined total of 70 courses delivered by 79 world-renowned experts and covered a broad range of topics and viewpoints surrounding financial inclusion.

This year, the MFT programs featured inaugural Digital Financial Services Concentration and an enhanced Master Class: New Financial Inclusion Paradigms.

The Digital Financial Services Concentration explored how best to respond to this quickly evolving and vital area of financial inclusion. 13 featured courses covered cutting-edge strategy, product design, agent banking, digital credit, consumer protection, DFS ecosystems, regulation and compliance and more.

The ENHANCED Boulder Master Class: New Financial Inclusion Paradigms, led by Boulder Institute President Robert Christen and Vice President Natasa Goronja, brought together leading minds to discuss challenges facing the industry today. Guests and topics included, among others, Leora Klapper on Findex (World Bank), Nino Mesarina on Marketing (ACCION) and Daryl Collins on Financial Diaries (Bankable Frontier Associates).

The next Boulder program is our 2nd Annual Back to Boulder: Strategic Response to Risk in Microfinance Markets (B2B). B2B is held in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and will take place in Washington, D.C. from November 27th to December 1st. This program brings together senior management executives such as CEOs, CFOs and board members to explore risk, competition and other critical strategic topics facing financial service providers today.

To address our interest in the LAC region, Boulder Institute will participate in the Foro Interamericano de la Microempresa (Foromic) in Argentina from October 30th to November 1st, 2017. Our institute has a long tradition of participating in this event which many of our alumni attend. We hope to see you there!
